For our family, Roma has always been about more than food. It’s about bringing people together, sharing in life’s special moments, and making people feel welcome around the table.

Our story began in Calgary in 1969, when Romano and Antonietta Cecchetto started Roma Catering, serving the city’s Italian community. In those early days, every event was a learning experience. There were plenty of long days, hard work, and the occasional surprise — including the time they ran out of food and had to make a last-minute trip to buy fried chicken!
As the business grew, so did the family behind it. Romano and Antonietta built the foundation and their son Carlo, alongside his wife, Franca, helped carry that tradition forward. Today Danny and his wife Genevieve work hard to uphold their legacies and ensure Roma continues serving our community and bringing people together.

Looking back, it’s the people, the memories, and the relationships built along the way that mean the most to us. That’s what has made Roma special from the beginning, and it’s what continues to inspire us today.

The heart of Roma has always been a simple family tradition: good food, made with care, and served with heart. From our earliest gatherings in Calgary’s Italian community to the celebrations we cater today, we’ve always believed that the little things matter — a meal prepared with pride, a warm welcome, and making sure every guest feels taken care of. These are the values passed down through our family that continue to guide us today.

Over the years, Roma has evolved alongside the city it calls home.
